The Inter Ocean Base Ball Club of Canon City was originally formed in January of 1874 with thier first practice boasting a roster of 17 gentlemen. Little is known about their first few seasons though in 1876 saw some success, the same year they obtained new uniforms. By 1877 they were considered the "Champions" of Southern Colorado.
